Mrs. Mills was a strong, resilient woman who loved to help those around her. She was extremely dedicated to doing what she loved for many years. Edith enjoyed working thirty years in the drapery and jewelry departments of Sears in Pasadena, Texas. After moving back to Nacogdoches in 1980 she continued working at Mize Department Store. Over the next twenty-seven years, Edith volunteered over 10,900 hours as a Pink Lady, helping those in need at Nacogdoches Medical Center. She was proud to be a founding member of a local chapter of the Red Hat Club.

At one time an avid seamstress, Edith loved to sew when she was able. She sewed dresses and helped to make the drapery for several local churches and banks. She also took great pride in her home, always keeping it spotless and neat. There is no doubt that Mrs. Mills will be truly missed by those that knew her.
