Mr. Lance Wayne Lowery of Etoile, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at the age of 71.

A lifelong Etoile area resident, he was born January 24, 1945, in Nacogdoches County to parents James K. Lowery Sr. and Juanita Strahan Lowery. Lance attended Etoile School and graduated from Woden High School before achieveing a Bachelors degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. He was self-employed for a number of years in timber marketing.

A lifelong Etoile area resident, he was born January 24, 1945, in Nacogdoches County to parents James K. Lowery Sr. and Juanita Strahan Lowery. Lance attended Etoile School and graduated from Woden High School before achieveing a Bachelors degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. He was self-employed for a number of years in timber marketing.

He was a very avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. Lance had a special fondness for bass fishing and participated in many tournaments. Many of these included his favorite fishing partner, his son Michael. He enjoyed spending time with his family and regular visits with his coffee drinking buddies.

He enjoyed traveling on cruises to many locations and destinations with his favorite being Alaska. Lance also had fun watching television.

His survivors include his son, Michael Lowery and wife Crystal of Etoile; brother, Keith Lowery and wife Joyce of Etoile; grandchildren, Cayden Lowery and Cameron Lowery of Etoile; longtime companion, Linda Wheeler of Etoile; nephew, Steve Lowery of Etoile; niece, Kim Lee and husband Rusty of Woden; great-nieces, Lauren Lee and Lainey Lee of Woden; great-nephews, Logan Lee of Woden and Landon Lowery of Etoile; and a number of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Bryan Keith "B.K." Lowery.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 28, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches. Services follow at 12:30 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Gary Davis and Rev. Reagan Sewell officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery in Etoile.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas.
