Mr. Victor Ray Reese Sr. of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Castle Pines Care Center in Lufkin, Texas, at the age of 93 years, 7 months, 12 days.

Born October 30, 1923, in Sublime, Texas, to parents Willie Lee Reese and Beryl (Haltom) Reese and graduated from Yoakum High School in Yoakum, Texas. He was a World War II veteran, serving his country with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Victor Ray Reese Sr. of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Castle Pines Care Center in Lufkin, Texas, at the age of 93 years, 7 months, 12 days.

Born October 30, 1923, in Sublime, Texas, to parents Willie Lee Reese and Beryl (Haltom) Reese and graduated from Yoakum High School in Yoakum, Texas. He was a World War II veteran, serving his country with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Reese was a longtime resident of Nacogdoches, Texas. He retired from International Paper after several years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Nacogdoches. He enjoyed travelling as well as playing golf and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Reese, on June 4, 2002. They were married August 14, 1947.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alura Rhodes; and brothers, Forrest Reese, Preston Reese, Morris Reese, and Douglas Reese.

His survivors include son, Victor Reese Jr. of Lufkin, Texas; daughter, Pam Johnson of Lufkin, Texas; Debbie Willard of Celina, Texas; son, Rick Reese and wife Dianna of Lufkin, Texas; grandchildren, Brian Reese, Dan Reese, Sandy Lewis, DeWayne Reese, Kellie Horton, Casey Johnson, Reese Willard, Chase Willard, Jaci Willard, Nicholas Reese, Courtney Sosa, and Gabrielle Oliver; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are set for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Fairview Cemetery, located on State Highway 21 East. Officiating will be Bro. Paul Sevar, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, located at 5400 North St. in Nacogdoches, Texas.
